Welcome to my part of the world! Born in India, raised in Bahrain, and settled in the USA, I'm now starting on a new journey to find a place to call home, viewing each destination with fresh eyes and an open heart. Join me in this adventure of reinvention and discovery, as I share my experiences and seek support and companionship along the way.

I am so lucky, I’ve never really stopped to think about it but sitting here by myself at this authentic Sicilian Italian pizza place in Spain… eating a tiramisu that literally makes me feel like I’m going to have an orgasm … I realize I’ve never ever written anything about how much I appreciate my life, my family, my parents and all the health or graces that have been bestowed upon me.
First let’s talk about the pizza because there’s no going forward without an honorable mention to the food. The place is called Masa Madre in Valencia Spain and the pizza I chose was the Diavola. It’s incredible… thin crust hot salami with capers in a spicy tomato sauce. Need I say more? I also had a lentil salad with crispy aubergine, cherry tomatoes and Parmesan cheese. To end the meal, I had the tiramisu but you already know how I feel about that delicious desert.
Whenever I write, I write about a lessonI am learning, an epiphany or an aspect of self discovery but tonight I just wanna write about how fucking lucky I am. I am lucky to have a job that allows me to travel when I want, take months off and then come back to Buffalo to make money. Thanks A- you know who you are! (my cool boss and friend)
I am by no means a good student… I’m more of a hands on learner…. So I was so lucky that my mom and dad let me just do what I wanted… without the pressure of trying to be molded into something I wasn’t.. I took the time to figure it with and found my niche. (well I’m still finding more niches! Who says I have to only do one thing in my life?) I excel at my job because I love it- I love taking care of ppl.
I am so lucky for my family (sisters) who are always there to support me emotionally when I need it… when I’m lonely or just need a little time pass so I don’t feel like a recluse!
I am thankful for my friends who accept me back from whenever & wherever I was, with open arms, laughter and support. Be it Spain, Buffalo, San Diego, Chicago, Germany, Toronto or England my friends visit, they keep in touch and when we get busy and can’t keep in touch we continue where we left off. It’s amazing.
I miss my mom but I am thankful she’s made me resilient, hardworking & gave me a charitable heart. She was an amazing woman. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. I’m thankful for my father because he made me charming (like him) and a unique weirdo. If you knew the both of them you would understand.
Anyway I am incredibly lucky and I am forever grateful. However, being the flawed human I am, I forget to practice appreciation… I forget that luck, love and happiness comes from recognizing small mercies everyday while practicing gratitude.
So this is my chance to get better at gratitude. To learn to appreciate and be consistent with my thanks to the life i have been given and the universe that somehow flows with me.
